about

Performed and recorded by BD on an Ozark RB3 5 string resonator banjo.

Tracks 1-10 recorded 31 October - 1 November 2015, outdoors during a strong wind via two cheap radio mics, one clipped to my banjo strap and the other in my pocket (from whence it frequently fell) or lying on the ground or tied to my shoe or hanging in a tree or dangling in set of sheep's bells. The roaring sound is the wind in the microphones as I strolled about playing, the electronic noises and dropouts are caused by being just outside the range of the weaker of the two radio mics.

Tracks 11-15 were recorded in my studio and garage, 11-12 November 2015, using a T.H.E. Sphere microphone, with no electronic effects apart from reverb and compression.
